Welcome to the Show!
It has been a long time coming…but our dream has started to become a reality. It all began when a few sports fanatics decided to try and find a way to help all high school athletes get recognized and recruited.
Most of our team has been in your shoes. After going through the recruiting process, we realized how hard it can be for athletes to play at the next level. What was clear is that most big colleges spend millions of dollars each year recruiting a relatively small number of athletes for their programs. While smaller colleges with limited recruiting budgets must rely on a variety of other sources to find athletes for their programs. The truth is that very few athletes ever have the chance to play college sports.
Furthermore, we took a look around the Internet and saw that there were a lot of sites that focused on elite high school athletes. A few other sites focused on the social networking aspects of high school sports. And worse yet…there were some sites that said that they would help high school athletes with the recruiting process; however, they were charging between $500 and $3,000 for their services!
What could we do to help make the recruiting process easier for all athletes in all sports? That is the question we asked ourselves when we set out to build our site. For us, the answer was simple. Create a website that leverages the power of the Internet to shift the recruiting process to what we like to call “Recruiting 2.0.†The “Recruiting 2.0″ idea is based on the Web 2.0 social phenomenon that embraces an approch to generating and distributing Web content itself, characterized by open communication, decentralization of authority, and the freedom to share and re-use “the market as a conversionâ€.
I know…â€What the heck did he just say?†In other words, PrepChamps is focused on providing high school student athletes with the tools they need to showcase their skills, enhance their exposure, and ultimately improve their chances of getting recognized and recruited. Best of all…we made it FREE!
We understand that most athletes might not have the skills to play at the Division I level; however, thousands of athletes do have the ability to play collegiate sports. We believe that our service will help to revolutionize the high school recruiting world by creating a community that “levels the playing field†for all high school athletes, not just the stars.
We have provided the tools…now it is up to you. Do you want to become a Champ? You spent countless hours in the weight room getting stronger and better conditioned. You stayed late in the gym and on the field perfecting the skills that will separate your from the competition. You put in the blood, sweat and tears.
