With National Signing Day coming up for high school football seniors, many athletes are feeling the excitement and stress as their recruiting process comes to an end. PrepChamps, a free online social recruiting community that helps athletes improve their chances of getting recognized and recruited by college coaches and recruiting coordinators, has seen a noticeable increase in the number of athletes on its site who have committed to play their sport in college over the past few months.
“I would tell other athletes who are making a profile that it really is a great website not only for getting noticed by colleges but also for keeping up with news and information about other athletes dealing with basketball and other sports as well from all over,” said junior Devon Hodges, who recently committed to play basketball at Wisconsin.
In less than a year, PrepChamps has helped almost 70,000 high school athletes, coaches, fans and parents in 34 sports connect through its free online community. Athletes from all sports are starting to find success in communicating with coaches from schools in all divisions.
As budgets have tightened, do-it-yourself recruiting websites like PrepChamps are even more valuable. Columbus State commit Blaken Zamudio said, “My dad was able to use your database to send out personal information via email with a tag to your website to give coach’s a quick reference and if they liked what they saw they would contact me to get more film.”
PrepChamps continues to experience growth, not only in the number of registered users, but also in the number of event partners, which enable PrepChamps to reach athletes and coaches offline, as well as online. PrepChamps runs its own football combines, has ties with Sports International for over 20 football camps around the country and is involved with 25 Reebok Basketball grassroots events this summer.
