Updates to Rivals Class of 2010 Basketball Rankings
There is a new #1 player at the top of the class of 2010 Rivals150 basketball rankings. Josh Smith, a 6′10″ big man from Seattle has overtaken Jeremy Tyler for the #1 spot.
USA Today Releases Super 25 High School Football Rankings

Interview with Derrick Favors
One of the top big men from the class of 2009, Derrick Favors, was recently interviewed by Alex Schwartz of the Northstar Basketball Blog. Favors shares his top 10 list, talks about how long he wants to play in college, and discusses his strengths and weaknesses. Thanks to the ACC Basketball Recruiting blog for finding this gem.
UNC Leads Basketball Teams in 2009 Recruiting Class
With 5 commitments, UNC has the best recruiting class of 2009, according to Rivals. Others in the top 5 includes Villanova, Georgia Tech, Illinois and NC State.
Newton, Carmel Rally in Season Opener
Morgan Newton ran for two touchdowns in the 4th quarter to lead #9 Carmel to a 28-21 win over Cathedral (Indianapolis) High.
Smaller Schools Struggle to Field Soccer Teams
Michigan’s The Saginaw News reports that since the Michigan High School Athletic Association switched tennis season to the Fall (from Spring) last year, the number of athletes playing tennis has dwindled, especially at smaller schools.
LaQuinton Ross at Top of Class of 2011 Basketball Players
Rivals released some more details about the top 10 basketball players from the class of 2011. 6′8″ shooting guard LaQuinton Ross is at the top of the list, followed by PG Anthony Wroten, Jr. and SF Mike Gilchrist.
