How to Walk On to a Division I Football Team

Recruiting 101 has a nice article about some things football players can do if they aren’t being recruited but really want to walk-on to a Division I school. One of these tips is to send your recruiting profile and highlight video to the coach before signing day. You can easily do this if you have a free profile on PrepChamps and you know the coach’s email address. If not, then you can upgrade to a premium account ($9.99/month) and receive access to our database with over 25k coach names and contact information.

However, unlike basketball, whose early signing period is before an athlete’s senior season, the AFCA has proposed the football early signing period to be during the football season. Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples says this is a step in the right direction. What do you think?
