Ryan Kelly Commitment Announcement - It’s Duke

Ryan Kelly, a 6′9″ power forward from Raleigh, NC (#8 best forward in Class of 2009 according to Rivals.com) announced that he has committed to play basketball next year at Duke. Kelly picked Duke over Notre Dame, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Georgetown. Kelly announced his commitment earlier tonight at 6:30 on ESPNU.

While he did average about 24 points per game last year, Kelly still hadn’t caught the attention of many scouts at top tier schools until this summer. He worked hard to improve his game and had some good showings at some tournaments, camps and events, including the Reebok Summer Championships.

Ryan Kelly should be a nice recruit for Duke. I’m sure he feels good that he finally announced his commitment, so he can get back to focusing on playing basketball and preparing for his senior season.
